Over a month!!

I can't believe it has been over a month since I last posted. That is nuts. I blame it on busyness/lazyness. There are many times when I think about what I should be writing and updating about, and then I just don't. My thoughts don't turn into anything...
And at this age, with a 1 year old and a 2 year old, SO much happens in a month!
This is before Micah got his head buzzed too. They both look SO cute with buzzed heads! Now if they would just keep their hats on when we are playing outside...
They both LOVE the outdoors and it is so nice playing in the yard, going for walks, and going to playgrounds. They also both sleep great, they love any toy that a boy should love (i.e. trucks and trains and balls, etc), they love their grandma, they enjoy kissing each other a great deal but also wrestling with each other too. They both enjoy times of snuggling and are dependent on physical touch to know their love. They play well together (though they do fight too) but they also both do well playing by themselves.

Judah is a ham.

His personality is so obvious, and so different from Micah's, it's great! It's the worst when we are trying to say "no" and discipline him and he looks at us, shaking his head in the "no" position, and smiles or laughs! So hard to keep a "discipline" face on when he does that!
He is also walking quite well, beginning to say a few words by speaking and also using signs, he has become proficient at quickly and quietly climbing the stairs, and he has learned how to get down off the couch by himself. He is very courageous (as noted by the red mark on his forehead) but also seems to be getting much smarter about climbing/falls/heights/etc.
He has not added anymore teeth, but he has added a few pounds...And he is very ticklish!
Micah is still "potty training" in that we still have some good days and some bad.
For the most part, he wants to wear underwear and wants to go in the toilet, but every once in a while, we have a day where he frequently chooses the floor over the toilet that is usually within arm's reach. Actually, as I write this, he just chose the floor...For the most part, he has dry naps. And he still wears a diaper at night.
He speaks very well. This is an added bonus in teaching Judah how to speak, both with his mouth and with his hands.
He is fairly cautious, but his little brother has helped him take some new risks, like jumping off of things. He likes/needs choices. We can't always just say, "let's put your clothes on" but instead often have to take the route of choices. Like, "do you want to put your shorts on first or your shirt on first?" Then it gives him the choice, the "lead" if you will.
Hopefully I will get better at posting more frequently, and shorter...

Talkative Boys

Judah is much more "talkative" than Micah ever was! I think a part of this is because he is constantly hearing Micah talk and he wants to do the same. I think part of it is just the difference in his personality... he is babbling a lot, especially when others are talking and he wants it to be known that he is in the room too!
Micah has been a great "repeater" of words. I don't know what is normal, but he tries to say everything we say, and although it may not be quite as clear as we would say it, in context we can understand most everything he tries to say. And just last week he decided that he was going to start forming sentences. They are only two and three words, but it is so cute! "Kick the ball" and "Throw it mommy" are so sweet coming out of his little mouth. He's such a smart little fella.
In other news...I think Micah might be a pro soccer player one day. Either that, or a swimmer. He has picked up both really well...and I don't mean in a 19 month old sort of way...I mean, he really has some good form. and skill!

Camera Found, Lots of Updates!

So, our camera was lost for a while. Coulda been anywhere...it was behind a couch...good to move furniture once in a while...now lots to update about...
Some things that don't involved the camera:
Micah has a mouthful of teeth right now. I think he has 10 fully through (including 2 molars) and 2 eye teeth partially through, with about 3-4 more swollen and on the verge of emerging...but no complaining!
Micah has begun to try and repeat more of the words we say (except Daddy, since he insists on calling him Matt, which I'm sure is my fault!) and has started trying to sing songs along with us.
He is walking great, getting some good speed at times, almost making it look like he wants to run.
Micah loves throwing away his own diapers in the trash, he listens when we tell him not to go upstairs, he makes lots of silly faces, he has a hilarious fake laugh and an even better belly laugh!
And for the pictures that were missing...
Micah loves, loves, loves bananas. He has eaten them since the beginning. Not too long ago I started cutting them up and letting him feed himself. This works great, unless he is in a playful experimental mood and chooses to find out what all he can do with them. Mainly squeezing...Now he will actually just take the whole banana and walk around with it feeding himself out of the peel just like I would eat one. What a grown-up!

Then we started trying out other foods that he could feed himself/occupy himself with. He has enjoyed carrots, especially holding one piece in each hand and walking around with them while gradually gnawing on them. And even better is if we leave some dip out and he can work his way back to the dip whenever he is ready.

And then with all the snow we have had this year (SO unusual here!) it has allowed Micah time and separate opportunities to gradually get used to it. From not wanting to be out in it, to being skeptical about touching it, to eventually eating it and laying in it!

Not really ok with this stuff at all! Get me back inside!

More ok with being outside in the snow this time, but still not so sure about actually touching it.

And after the third big snow, he is all about it! Eating it, laying in it, playing in it!

SO glad we found the camera! What a cutie! And I can only imagine what a great big brother he is going to be!

My Little Boy...

...is growing up so fast!

He start rolling this week. ROLLING! It's like he did it once and really like it and he can't stand to not be rolling around the room when placed on the ground now. Can't turn our heads to sneeze anymore. He's that fast!

He also started talking. Not just some noise once in a while. Really talking. He was doing it for me early last week, but by the end of the week he was doing it for Matt. And today when he was in his crib for a nap he was going at it for a long time. All. by. Himself. It's so cute, the facial expressions that go along with it. Like he is truly trying to let us know everything going on in his life and how he feels about it all. It's great!

And right now...I can hardly believe this one...

wait.....for.....it......

he is upstairs as we speak (or as I write, but probably not as you read this since who knows when you-whoever YOU are- will actually be reading this).

That's it.

He's upstairs.

No, that's not it. He is in his crib. In HIS room. For the night! He cried for a while (pretty much NEVER cries at night, unless it's just been a really rough day) but seems OK right now. I'm really excited right now. We'll see how well I actually sleep, wondering all night how he is doing. If I need to go check on him. If the monitor is still working. If I will hear him when he cries (don't know why I would worry about this since the head of our bed is on the paper-thin wall that his crib is also on).

He is growing up so fast, my little man!
