I just got back from hiking for 2 weeks in AZ with the National Outdoor Leadership School...it was fun, it was hard, it was exciting, it was frustrating, it was beautiful, it was a learning experience...it was also amazing to take a shower and sleep in my bed for the first time. it's amazing the things you start to appreciate so much more when you have not had them in a while...i am still processing some things from the trip, but i know i was there for a reason, i know i learned some hard things about myself, and i know i am going to become a better person because of this trip. more stories are sure to follow...

Leadership
Sometimes being a leader sucks...but I think it is what I am called to do...and it is what I am going to be doing for the next couple of weeks: learning to be a better leader and doing it in the outdoors. 2 great combinations, both could be hard for 2 weeks straight, but at the same time, I am very excited for both. I'm sure I'll have lots of stories when I get back!

Christmas is over....
Taking down Christmas decorations is like unpacking after a trip...it's dreadful! I have put it off for a while now, but it was a necessity, mainly since we are leaving town so soon. Putting up the decorations is great because it is the beginning of the season: parties, food, baking, presents, giving, family, friends, etc...it starts the anticipation. Like when you are packing to go away on a trip and it is fun because you are excited for a trip, but then when you come home the last thing you want to do is unpack and do laundry, etc...and so it is...until next year.
